History of Roe vs Wade

Abortion was not always legal. As a matter of fact in the 1850s the American Medical Association called for the criminalization of abortion. The Catholic Church also ban abortions in the mid 1800s. Despite this there were still some areas where women could get an abortion so Texas created a law that said it could only be done to safe the life of the mother. This is where the Roe vs Wade saga starts. Women in Texas (Roe) sued the district attorney of Dallas (Wade). In 1973 it made it the supreme court in a 7/2 decision which struck down the Texas law and effectively legalized abortion nationwide. The reasoning? Because of a right to privacy. The supreme court also created legislation on when abortions could happen. (Something they were not allowed to do)

The Beginning of Mass Genocide

With abortion almost completely unrestricted in the United States a whole industry of death was born. Clinics popped up all over the nation, especially in mostly black areas. Racists at the time saw this as a great way for population control, and boy were they right. Some remember the old adage “Safe, Legal and Rare” well as it turns out Safe and Rare were lies. Since to overturning of Roe vs Wade to January of this year there have been 63,459,781 abortions. Currently around 900,000 babies are murdered each year.

Overturning of Roe vs Wade

In March of 2018 Mississppi passed a law limiting abortion too only 15 weeks. That made Jackson Women’s Health Organization sue Mississippi State Health Officer Tomas Dobs which eventually made it’s way to the supreme court. On June 26, 2022 Dobs (The State of Mississippi) won the case and the national abortion ruling was thrown out. The decision did not ban abortion nationwide, it only made it legal for states to do so. Since the overturning 12 states have essentially outlawed abortions. Another 12 have placed very restrictive laws on abortion. Other states have legalized it or expanded on it allowing for abortions up until the time of birth (basically a live baby). There is still lots to be done to change the hearts and minds of people everywhere to understand the horror of abortion. We need people to speak openly against it and be knowledgeable as to why it is so terrible.

All Christians Must Unite to Ban Abortion

The Church has been very split over this but it is hard to understand why. The bible may not speak directly against the word abortion but that is because the word did not exist. The bible does speak about how precious life is. Lets go over reasons Christians should leave their political views at the door, especially for abortion. I will use the New Living Translation so this is easy to understand. Feel free to look up points in any translation.

1. God created you and knew who you were before you were born. Jeremiah 1:5 “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” If you want too argue that he was speaking specifically to that profit you can but the same thing appears in Psalms 139:13-16 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. ¹⁴ I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. ¹⁵ My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. ¹⁶ Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
2. In 2 Chronicles 28:3 we see that Ahaz upsets the Lord by sacrificing his sons. “He offered sacrifices in the valley of Ben-Hinnom, even sacrificing his own sons in the fire.^a] In this way, he followed the detestable practices of the pagan nations the Lord had driven from the land ahead of the Israelites.” and because of that the lord punishes him for it. 2 Chronicles 28:5 “Because of all this, the Lord his God allowed the king of Aram to defeat Ahaz and to exile large numbers of his people to Damascus. The armies of the king of Israel also defeated Ahaz and inflicted many casualties on his army.“
3. God wants you to be fruitful and multiple and blesses those who are. Genesis 9:7 “As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.” Palms 127:3-5 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. ⁴ Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. ⁵ Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.
4. We are told that God hates spilling innocent blood in Proverbs 6:17. “You must not murder” Exodus 20:13, Deuteronomy 5:17, Matthew 5:21, Matthew 19:18, Romans 13:9.
5. We are created in Gods Image. Genesis 1:26, Genesis 1:27, Genesis 5:1, Genesis 9:6, 1 Corinthians 11:7, James 3:9, Ephesians 4:24. This is just a few. I did not write them all out because there are so many references too this. If we are created in the image of God we should love and respect life.
6. All the Gospels talk about how much Jesus/God loved children.

Science Says That Babies Are Alive In The Womb

“Science teaches without reservation that life begins at fertilization (conception). It is a scientific fact that an organism exists after fertilization that did not exist before. This new organism has its own DNA distinct from the mother and father, meaning that it is a unique person.” (https://www.liveaction.org/news/life-begins-at-conception-science-teaches/). Don’t be fooled, there is no doubt that life starts at conception. People who refuse to use the word Baby and instead want to use the word fetus or embryo are purposely trying dehumanize the child so that the mother has less regret and is willing to have the abortion. This is a tactic used in war for thousands of years. You call the enemy scum, rats, dogs and dehumanize them so you do regret killing them. One of my favorite ways to put this argument down is to say “If they found a fetus/embryo on Mars, what exactly would science say they found on Mars?” If they say I don’t know they are either lying or not thinking about it. The obvious answer here is “Scientist would say they found life on Mars”.

Jesus Can Forgive You

If you had an abortion, Jesus can forgive your sins. Repent, change, pray. John 3:16 says “For this is how God loved the world: He gave^a] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” You see in the old testament when someone would sin they would have to sacrifice an animal to God for forgiveness. So God sent his Son to die for us to take away our sins. He is the ultimate sacrifice and so he paid the price for all of us. All you have to do is believe in him and ask for forgiveness. It cannot be earned. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The nicest person you know is guilty of something and needs forgiveness and this is the only way to receive it.  I pray for those who have had abortions. I pray that you find Jesus who can help you with your guilt. I pray that God softens your heart. I pray those thinking about abortion will think twice about it. I pray that they begin to start looking into other options such as adoption or how they can take care of the baby.
